If Buffett was loading up on tungsten, then why is the Woulfe-IMC deal not done?

Tungsten is used for the vibrating function in phones and tablets

That's the million doallar question. It wouldn't surprise me one bit if IMC is playing hardball with Woulfe. The reason guys like Buffet have become so rich is because they're very good at negotiating a great deal. Who knows, may be even Buffet took part in the Debenture offering. The quicker this offering closes the better we're off. Let's pay the $5 mil. back before months ...more

And what about the dicontinuation of the import and sale of incandescent light bulbs by many countries between 2012 and 2015, which uses tungsten?
Comment by kilgor on Feb 13, 2013 4:38pm
Perhaps I am wrong but Buffet manages Berkshire Hathaway and they are a majority shareholder in IMC. Also the deal with Woulfe is with IMC and not Berkshire Hathaway.  This means: 1) Buffet doesn't manage the business decisions of IMC, hence it is IMC's management making the deal with Woulfe. The money is Not coming from Berkshire, hence again Buffet is not in the decision ...more

I spent hours and hours late last year trying to convince a WOF stockholder that this was what was happening, and that the apparent weakness was an accumulation opprotunity.  Yet paranoid he continued to be, justifiably since without that financing IMC would have had WOF in a headlock.  Now they're likcly to lose their 30% unless they get on the ball.  Heck, they may lose much ...more

Make up your mind people! First people come on here and run their mouths about how billionaires become billionaires by pinching every penny and keeping track of every dollar. Then these same people come on here and post about how Buffett doesn't care about billions of dollars worth of tungsten even though it will have a domino effect on Berkshire Hathaway and their other subsidiaries like ...more

You're dreaming if you think Woulfe Mining and their billions of dollars worth of tungsten assets are low on Warren Buffett's list. In fact it is the opposite. Tungsten is high up on his list. It's no secret that he considers it more valuable then gold. https://www.wyattresearch.com/article/warren-buffett-cool-on-physical-gold-but-hot-on-tungsten-miner/26940 https://moneymorning.com ...more
