moving to CSE question

Does anyone know whether (delisting from TSX.V to the CSE) this will affect anyone holding WOF shares in a TFSA??  Will it still be TFSA eligible after the move?
Any input appreciated.

It will not affect any of our shares. Our shares are locked in by law. This in fact will help us. Dundee wants to be on the CSE and will promote the stock. That is why in my opinion the website is down. After March 7th, the new site will go up promoting on the new CSE.  We are ok and safe.

Here ya go... https://www.taxtips.ca/rrsp/qualifiedinvestments.htm Note that most Canadian and US stock exchanges are included here, but Over-the-Counter Facilities such as NASDAQ OTC Bulletin Board facility, and the Canadian OTC Automated Trading System are not included in the list of designated stock exchanges. The regular NASDAQ system is included in the designated stock exchanges. See the ...more

That is a great question richsooner, I never thought of that. I think they usually are not TFSA eligable. I own some in my TFSA and RRSP... I hope this wont be an issue, I might be forced to sell the majority of the shares that I own...What I assume is that if we already own the shares, they will be accepted but we probably wont be able to purchace any more which would be quite a bummer...been ...more

Okay, I spoke with a rep from TD as well as Questrade ... Neither could give me an absolute YES or NO answer.  Yes the CSE is on the list of approved exchanges but that doesn't necessarily mean any security on this exchange will be 100% TFSA eligible.  The reps said that the Government of Canada decides on a per company basis and not only whether its on an approved exchange.   ...more

Thanks, I'm sure a lot of our portfolio's can be affected by this...if it per company basis, I'm sure we'll be fine.....it's not like WOF's trading has been manipulated the past couple of months.. :-) Chizzles

I own stocks on the CSE and have done so for the past six months.  It is reliable and secure. You definitely can run it through a TFSC just like the Venture.   One really good thing about the CSE -- it requires the companies to provide a monthly written update. For a company like WOF where shareholders rarely get any news, a detailed monthly update (answering required questions) is ...more

Can you trade online through your broker MS  ? I am with TD Waterhouse and I remember at one point that was not possible.. Wonder if that has changed.. I guess I will have to make some phone calls..

Tech, I am with Disnat and cannot buy shares online from the CSE.Even by phone, depending on the company, they don't always allow to purchase shares on the CSE. When I buy/sell, I now pay 9.95 a transaction. When I buy/sell on the CSE, I pay 1 or 2 % of the value of my shares. Instead of 9.95, if WOF ever reaches the price I eventually expect it to, I might have to pay a commision of atleast ...more

Techone, the following address lists the brokers where CSE is available on-line or by phone.  You will see the answer to your TD Waterhouse question there. https://cnsx.ca/CNSX/Investor-Info/How-to-Trade-Stocks-on-the-CSE.aspx
