CIBC Investors

@Grampax5 Hi everyone I have a question and not sure if I have an issue with my funds/shares over the merger so hoping for some feedback. At the time of the merger I had the following in my account. Shares 5145, Average Cost $4.40, Total Cost $22,638, Market Value 35,706.30, Gain/Loss “gain $13,068.30 gain”. Now I did ask Krr and my CIBC Broker. What happens to my gain funds from this account when the merger happens. What I was told was Du I Don’t Know by everyone. Now I’m short $13.068.30 after the merger. I did get the shares and the 0.30c cash that was just over $3,k. Can anyone explain this to me I would appreciate any input that might help. Had I known this would happen I would have sold enough shares to have kept these funds in my control and used this to have purchased more shares after the merger. I’m going to contact CIBC Investors again but hoping for some input. Thank You

Your calculations are off.  You would receive apprx. 12,965 shares of Westgold (t.WGX) WORTH $2.60 TODAY OR VALUE $33,441 PLUS APPROX. 3,087 cash plus 1715 of Spin Co. (not listed yet)  So at todays market your shares plus cash equates to $36,528  or approx. $822 more than at date of almagation excuding value of Sinco.   Check your brokerage account.

G5 Ok, so you had 5145 shares of KRR.  You had a gain of $13,068.30...That's based on 6.94/sh of KRR by your calcs. You lost that gain because you did not sell prior to the buy out. So forget the gain...forget it...it means nothing... When the buy out happened, this what you should have had; 5145 X 2.524 = 12986 of WGX @ $2.40/sh 12986 X 2.40 = $31,166.40 5145 X 60.8 cents = $3 ...more
