Even though I'm upset at this deal I'm holding and hoping for a white knight as far as Diageo in Uruguay if this comes to fruition we would want ACB shares before the run up and not after.

For the record I don't actually think this is the reason behind the halt...  quite the contrary.  The article in the Uruguayan newspaper which originally leaked the acquisition stated that: The authorities can not refuse the agreement, as long as the Anti-Laundering Secretariat establishes the origin of the financial funds that will allow the transaction.
