With Mine-Restart in Focus, West Red Lake Gold Explores Along 3-Kilometer Strike for New Discoveries
Having recently commencement of its 2024 surface drilling program on the 100% owned Madsen Mine Property in Ontario, Canada, West Red Lake Gold (WRLG.v WRLGF) has identified several highly prospective targets, following a thorough review of geological data.
Exploration Strategy
- The drilling program is targeting up to 10,000 meters
- Focused on areas along the primary Madsen structural trend, in proximity to the Russet Lake and Venus ultramafic units.
- Drill holes will range from 300-500 meters deep and are designed to explore and assay core throughout the entire depth, aiming for new high-grade gold discoveries.
Key Targets
- Upper 8: A shallower analog to the high-grade 8-Zone, located within the same lithologic unit.
- MJ: A high-grade portion of the Wedge resource, characterized by gold-bearing quartz veins within altered basalt and peridotite.
- North Venus: A target 2 km northeast along strike from the North Austin zone, with a similar geophysical signature to known mineralized areas.
- North Starratt: Positioned near the historically productive Starratt Mine, which produced 164,000 ounces of gold.
Mine Restart Plan
- Aim to restart the high-grade Madsen gold mine by the second half of 2025
- Ongoing pre-feasibility study is expected to be released soon and will outline the restart plan, including underground development, installation of key infrastructure, and test mining operations.
Madsen Mine Resources
- Currently host to an NI 43-101 Indicated resource of 1.65 million ounces of gold grading 7.4 g/t and an Inferred resource of 0.37 million ounces of gold grading 6.3 g/t.
- Fully permitted and equipped with a new 800+ tonne per day mill and a tailings and water treatment facility.
