Wescorp Energy Announces Performance Results for Second Generation H2Omaxx Water Remediation Unit in Treating Marine Bilge Water

Canada NewsWire

CALGARY, May 24, 2011 /CNW/ - Wescorp Energy Inc. (Wescorp) (OTCBB: WSCE), a clean water technology company focused on implementing cost-effective solutions in several markets, including the oil and gas and marine industries, announced today that the second generation 10,000 barrel per day (bpd) H2Omaxx technology has successfully treated marine bilge water.

The H2Omaxx achieved the International Maritime Organization approved Resolution MEPC 107(49) regulated maximum residual hydrocarbon clean water discharge of 15 parts per million (ppm) with ease. This discharge standard is adopted and enforced nationally by agencies such as the U.S. Coast Guard.

"We are very impressed with the performance of the H2Omaxx in treating bilge water, which is a complex mix of hydrocarbons and other contaminants. The results of these real-world operations will be utilized in support of Allied Holdings and Wescorp Marine's development of the H2Omaxx for international marine certification and shipboard use through the Wescorp Marine joint venture," stated Tim Gale, President and CEO of Allied Holdings and President of Wescorp Marine. "This further supports our assessment that the H2Omaxx technology may be one of the best oil-water separation technologies available for shipboard use."

Bilge water was brought by barge from a ship to the H2Omaxx, where the water was treated and the hydrocarbons were separated and contained. Bilge water from ships contains a wide range of potential hydrocarbons and contaminants, including lube oil, fuel oil, machinery leakage, solvents, detergents, iron oxide particles, biological, equipment and engine-room wash water, firefighting foam, water treatment chemicals, grey water and sanitary system overflows, and seawater.

"Wescorp's objective is to demonstrate the capability of the H2Omaxx to meet the needs of an additional world-wide hydrocarbon based market, the marine industry," stated Robert G. Power, Executive Chairman of Wescorp's Board. "Now, we will move forward with Allied Holdings and Wescorp Marine to the next stage of development, technology adaptation and independent testing of H2Omaxx units for sea-going vessels."

Third party sampling of the bilge water before and after treatment, and reporting of the analytical results, was conducted by a national environmental consulting firm, hired by the bilge water service operator.

This technology continues to impress me. I speak from experience when I say that bilge water can be some of the rudest stuff going and it bodes well to see a successful  full scale test of the 10000 barrel a day unit in this application. They have essentially proven that they can handle bilge water pumped to an on shore facility and they are discussing testing for installation right on board ...more

goldminegirl - I have to agree with you, the technology continues to impress. Multiple waste streams will only lend to the diversity of the technology. The marine applications could and should be major for Wescorp, both from the bilge water application and offshore oil separation/clean water perspectives.News appears to be more frequent of late.Wescorp needs that first order and one would think ...more

Their are all kinds of people in this market place already. Check out Marinefloc or Genoil etc etc etc. Wescorp's technology is nothing really new. If you think bildge water is a difficult application try tailings ponds, middlings, slop oil polymer flood water or any other application with any level of viscosity, or rapid changes in process conditions.   Thats why float ...more

Reynolds#, Maybe I looked up the wrong company but Marinfloc is a tablet that cleans mostly algae. There is no comparison to the h2Omaxx technology. But like I said, let me know if I looked up the wrong company. Also, What does IGF Technologies and Float Cell have to do with water remediation? Again, I may have looked up the wrong companies. Now Genoil is a different story. They tout ...more

Ummmmmm ......hmmmmmScale up? That would be like taking a 2000 barrel a day unit and scaling it to a 10,000 barrel a day unit and then taking that someplace and proving it under real world operating conditions. Oh what am I saying that’s what they are doing NOW! LOLAs far as further scale up I would think that most engineers could figure out how to put in a connecting pipe to two 10,000 barrel a ...more

Yes Genoil is quite impressive and is consolidating and putting equipment into operational environments  -  this is a real company.

After looking over their web site and examining SEDAR for Genoil I am reminded of a story about a young man attending his first school dance. His mother had told him that he must always be a gentleman and compliment any young lady he had the good fortune to dance with. He stood against the wall with all the other shy young men staring across the vast expanse of no man's  land gym floor and ...more

Well that's just peachy keen. it's darn good to know that genoil is just as pathetic as wescorp if not worse. Even better to know that wescorp is reorganized to get commercial activity underway. One would think that the new president of the company would be located at corporate hqts in Canada but wescorp does it their way. After all delati has been so successful down there in texas why ...more
