Similar LULL movements (or frustrtation with lack thereof)
I think both (XBC & GRN) for the next few weeks / months are in a similar situation, both:
- have had significant run-ups in the past 6-9 months (in respect to their respective stock prices and not in comparison to the crazy retail frenzy)
- recently closed major financings (and acqusitions in XBC's case + 1 more to follow with Inmatec)
- in lull* period post-financing close, next finance release is Q1/annual which takes longer to prepare / issue
- have disclosed growing order books and quote logs BUT neither has issued any new deals in several months so I'm hoping / expecting something should come out in the days / weeks
- in great sectors (Green / Renewable / ESG) although XBC may now have the edge with the, as the CEO put it, transaformative HyGear acquisition (and the soon to close Inmatec acquistion) giving it added fire power in Hydrogen
All that to say perhaps many of the "traders" are gone onto something more "exciting" while "investors" are patiently holding for news (while crossing their fingers that the much talked about macro reset doesn't happen just yet). So for now, we patiently watch the snow fall (and soon hopefully melt) while we keep glancing at the stock quotes hoping to see more green than red.
As an aside (but related given they are also in the Green space), it will be interesting to see how EXRO also plays out in 2021 which similar to XBC and GRN they have also recently closed a sizeable round of financing (and IMO also have a strong, straightshooting CEO).
* lull · 1 n-count A lull is a period of quiet or calm in a longer period of activity or excitement.
