Over Compensating

Maybe COO leaving was purposely timed to coincide with a plethora of good news to soften the blow. If so I will take a new contract ever day for the next little while.

Perhaps in hindsight they might have named a replacement COO in conjunction with the departure news

Something to still look forward to. You have to give them time to vet an appropriate candidate. May be wise for them to consider a woman for the role just saying.

I agree however it appears that perhaps they had no choice.... IF COO decides to resign given it would be a "material" event they would have to be disclosed with a few days of it happening. They would not have had time to recruit a new COO and perhaps appointed the former HyGear CEO as Global head of Hydrogen as a positive spin otherwise it would have looked worse. Plausible but only ...more

Appointing a new hire to lead Xebec’s global hydrogen operations as the new President for the Global Hydrogen Group is not something you decide in short notice to put a spin on something. We can speculate that it was a position Prabhu wanted and they would need to backfill the COO position. When the position was not given to Prabhu, he was pushed out. Divorce can be ugly.

Hard to say what happened wrt the timing of the news. Seeing that the news of Prabhu's departure was given out in a news release just minutes before the market opened (they usually send out at 8 am), that doesn't sound planned. Perhaps today's news release was already planned prior to Prabhu's departure (they could have sent it out yesterday, but it was Family Day in some ...more
