James Telfser on BNN - Don't BUY rating

Don't shoot me. Just telling you what stockchase.com says he said .

It was flying high with a robust valuation, then issued equity and made acquisitions. They really disappointed. These aren't easy contracts to deliver on. The sector got really caught. XBC couldn't deliver. Results disappointed. Valuation remains wildly high. Wait a few quarters.

Owned
Unknown , whether he owns.

he is basically saying hold nothing we didn't know already.

Valuation remains wildly high? LOL. He's taken the glass half empty approach. With some second level thinking he would have walked through their issue, how it was addressed, how the sell off could be overdone and how current valuations (wildly high?) make it an opportunity over next few quarters for a recovery ...

Not sure he's really familiar with the company? Maybe on a shallow level? He said XBC trades with the likes of PLUG and Ballard as far as evaluations are concerned? TT has indicated XBC's evaluation is way less than the other two leaders. It's a shame when analysts talk when they don't really know.

Ciao and everybodyelse, my personal feeling is you're asking a lot of a fund manager. if I was arguing details  with Telfser - i would agree with flying high with robust valuation - disagree on the timing of acquisitions ( started prior to equity raises if i remember right ) ,can agree with really disappointed , hard contracts to deliver ( look what happened) - valuation reminds high ...more

I watched Telfser on bnn last night and thought his analysis of xbc was bang on. especially the last bit where he says it looks like they bit off more than they can chew. they couldn't execute before as was proven las quarter and now to expect them to integrate everything and execute and make money doing looks like a pipe dream to me (and to many others)  cheers ferret

Executing a business plan during a pandemic is quite the challenge, especially when it hit has hard as it did and its still going on. Look at all the casualties out there globally. Telfser is just an opinion. Easy to kick someone when they are down.  The new board additions have strengthened the company.

I would really love to know how xebecs story plays out in your tiny ferret mind please enlighten us with your genius. I guess in your mind xebec completely misses next 2 quarters then declares bankruptcy by end of year. Please tell me how your doomsday scenario is much more likely than them executing the current guidance for the year. All you do is come on here to sow seeds of doubt and fear into ...more
