There's a reason why there are very few Oak trees in Florida. Hurricanes kill Oak trees. Oak trees aren't flexible. A Palm tree cand bend so far over that its top touches the ground. It can go with the wind. It can "weather the storm." Many other species can't, or won't, or don't. It's been scientifically proven that hurricanes actually strengthen the root ...more
