Quarter End Fund Positioning

Yesterday was the final day to exit your position if you did not want Xebec to show in your funds holdings. Maybe a couple of funds were doing window dressing.

Makes sense and would explain the increase in volume. I just find it hard to understand why a professional managing large amounts of money would decide to sell this near the 52 week low.

Hope it is the case. Also, we are approachnig end of year for many retail investors who will want to take their fiscal losses. Me ... amongst them. Not very encouraging. GLTA

tax loss selling is still months away a lot can happen in that time and I doubt if it shows signs of reversal that people will take a steep loss.

Actually tax loss season now runs all year. A few years ago, everyone used to wait until December to unload their losers and claim tax losses. Then investors figured out that if you sell earlier than that, you can claim your loss, wait 30 days and then take advantage of the last minute sellers to buy back your shares at even greater bargains. That's a very good and true point obviously some will still wait until the end of the year to decide whether or not to sell at a loss but am sure many have also taken the approach you just stated. Regardless of when you sell throughout the year you can still claim the loss so really there is no tax loss selling season
