Sell the news?

Big jump in the past few days, I entered with a small position at $2.86 on Friday and am thinking about selling the news and buying back in after earnings.

Thoughts?

I would say the odds would be in your favor to sell going in.  The longs on here have been too beaten up, to not be in the game for the quarterly.  As someone who's partaken and more than a few beatings on this play, I stubbornly will not sell into this Q.  It's as much becuase as humans we're eternally hopeful that tomorrow will be brighter than today, as much as it is ...more

That depends on 3 things. Are you a trader of an investor? What is your idea of a small position? Where will the stock be trading next Tuesday and Wednesday? Only you can answer the first two questions. Nobody has a clue about the third.

"You've got to ask yourself a question: do I feel lucky? Well, do ya, punk?" Lol, sorry, I just couldn't resist.

yup; the market can make you do funny things...... funnily enough, last week i was away gathering some free range, organic protein (deer hunting) and while away i was filled for additional shares at $2.71 (the funny part being i don't remember making that bid.........) nice to be lucky sometimes so, for those keeping track, that makes 8,000 shares @  avg $2.76 sold half today at $3 ...more

True but was it priced in already even though it was expected I think not.

True but until it happened,it hadn't, so therefore not baked into the SP. About selling half. You can never be right. If it goes up,you shouldn't have sold and if it goes down, you should have sold it all. That said,I have done it many times. I think in a year from now we will say that this was a great purchase.

Ended up selling at $3.61, mere minutes before the most recent acquisition closed and the price jumped. I still believe this quarter's results will disappoint. There's simply too much hope for a big change but EBITDA will not have had a chance to recover. Can't wait to hear, yet again, something about the global supply chain crisis... That said, it is priced quite low, but a ...more

I'm witnessing someone trying to tell someone else what to do with their money after the intitial someone made a colossal mistake. That doesn't sit right with me.  With due respect, some self-reflection is in order. You sold at $3.61, as you stated, mere minutes before the most recent acquisition closed. Meaning, you tried to time the market on the rise and failed. Now you're ...more

KB not sure what you're on about  looks like this fellow made a nice gain from $2.7 to $3.60 very similar to me (as I too sold half minutes before the announcement) but hey, I can buy it back today for the exact same price that looked like a  stupid sell 4 days ago    he said he 'believes' the results will not be great and would possibly buy back lower ...more

Looks like we're back around $3.25, I believe the price is enticing around here, but I want to wait a little before hopping back in. Either way, a great trade from $2.86 to $3.61, hope to repeat that again.
