RNG AND QC GOVERNMENT

In "la Presse Web site today"...I made this summary for those who can't read  french

In the office of the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, spokesperson Genevive Tremblay adds that "the best way to no longer depend on imported gas and oil is by reducing our consumption". “This is true for Quebec and it is also part of the solutions identified by European leaders. What we see is that a shift towards renewable energies will accelerate in Europe. And it is in this niche, where Quebec excels, that we can help in the short and medium term, "she analyzes.

“The climate crisis is going to be much more important for our economy, much more broadly than the few gains that we could make in the short term by thinking of exploiting certain hydrocarbons more. The recent report of the IPCC [Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, an intergovernmental body open to member countries of the United Nations] demonstrates this: we are in an unprecedented crisis, ”she adds.

Pierre-Olivier Pineau, holder of the energy chair at HEC Montral, makes the same observation. “The Russian conflict underscores the importance of making a rapid energy transition, of ending our consumption of oil and natural gas, because it is the revenues from these products that allow Russia to act as it does. The oil rent made it possible to enrich Putin and his armies,” he concludes.

With COVID, OTTAWA & WAR nobody is talking about UN latest report (last Monday). YUP ...more

You left out a couple things here. There was a small fire that has been put out and no radiation leaks. Also China is not happy about it. But of course you would just highlight the alarmist points.

I thought it was a rather alarmist post myself no information just vague statements about shelling the largest nuclear reactor in Europe with a bunch of exclamation points then a stupid meme showing a big mushroom cloud from an explosion. Sorry that you disagree it wasn't alarmist at all don't know what to tell you. https://ca.news.yahoo.com/china-broke-silence-russias-invasion-113140130 ...more

babedinkleman i must say that your not completely wrong in your remarks but maybe a little bit to alarmist. Yes it's true that Putin is mad and dangerous, but if he realy wanted to destroy the nuclear reactor and create a major disaster, dont you think he would have already did it.......not just a rather small fire. He wants to invade Ukraine.......Do you think he wants a nuclear disaster ...more

babedinkleman wrote: Of course he doesn't want a nuclear disaster.....but sloppy mistakes can be made when shelling around a reactor.  News headline on CNBC currently is "World 'Narrowly' Escaped Nuclear Disaster"  I guess they are just being alarmist too. And yes....the Canadian banks....in a probable recession caused by out of control inflation and rising ...more
