Oil and gas sector emissions need to be cut 2/5 by 2030
The report projects that emissions from the oil and gas sector -- including production, refining, and transportation via pipelines -- could be 110 million tonnes by 2030, down from 191 million tonnes in 2019. The report forecasts that emissions from waste, including landfills, can be cut by 43 per cent by 2030, electricity by 77 per cent, heavy industry by 32 per cent, and emissions from buildings by 42 per cent.
