Standard fare. Basically keeping within common practice. His target is ~50% above what the stock was at the time he revised it. Virtually all firms will constrain analysts enthusiasm to avoid potential liability. Most analysts can't have targets more than 50% above the prevailing stock price at the time. If that is the case why as TD not been sued with a 17.50$ target we? Fact is during the Brex-x scandal there was a class action against the brokerage firms but was stuck down by the courts with a ruling that brokerage firms did not have a fiduciary duties with regards to projected returns.
