Can't explain it

Looking at the numbers, it's impossible to attribute this slaughter to anything other than a complete meltdown. Total capitulation. Xebec is at half of book value while Greenlane is at 2 times book. At Greenlane's premium to book, Xebec would be $4.20. You can say anything you want about management or execution but nothing that I can think of can justify a disconnect to this extent other than a full-fledged panic selloff. Xebec has 22 cents per share in cash. I'm guessing, but I'd bet some of the analysts are as shocked as we are. My bet is that some of them only lowered their targets because of what the market has done to the stock. The National Bank analyst couldn't possibly maintain his $3.75 target on a stock trading at a buck. As it stands the consensus target is a double from here. Try to find another stock where the consensus target is 100% higher. You won't. I think we've seen the ultimate capitulation, where after a year of torture seller's became irrational. I can't even come close to justifying the stock at these levels given the fundamentals. I think that after having the weekend to digest and calm down, the market will respond accordingly on Monday. I certainly hope so.

It's possible that some agents were under a mandate to liquidate a large position by the close of business last week. It sure looked like that may have been the case. It closed near the low both Thursday and Friday. If so, we'll see a quick snap back. If so...

There is actually a few I can think of off the top of my head with targets 100 percent higher than current sp. Trulieve, grn, anrg, cts am sure there are probably some more too.
Comment by Gann999 on May 14, 2022 12:40pm
sorry eliminate cts off that list they are all downgrading it now.

I was referring to CONSENSUS targets. Anyway, if they're downgrading CTS now, that's precisely because of the scenario I described where analysts are forced to revise targets because of what the market does. I see CTS made a new low on Wednesday. It's hardly surprising targets are being lowered. It happens in both directions.

i think i can explain the sector wide melt down.first of all supply chain issues all companies dependant on high teck components are getting killed.second the cost of supplies was high last quarter this quarter add another 20 to 30%.so bigger loss next earnings report.then there is the geopolitical factor on fossil fuels, every country is scrambling to get those supply chains going , winter is only ...more

Nonsense!! A bot response. Winter is only 5 months away?? Really? That's the best you've got? Pathetic!
