The market did not bottom until rates hit rock bottom.

The pivot from raising rates to stopping the raise and then start to ease marked the start of a faster move lower. In 2000 & 2008 rates were rising and there was essentially 2 pivots. The stopping of the raising of rates and the pullback.

Sorry. The markets have never started a new move sharply lower when rates have started to decline. Never once in history. In fact, the longest duration bull market in history started in August 1981 when rates were at all-time highs. They hadn't even turned lower yet but Henry Kaufman came out and said "Interest rates have peaked". The dow was up 36 points that day, which was a big ...more
