The Importance of Wayfinding

Wayfinding is very much what it sounds like: helping people find their way in an area that they are unfamiliar with through the use of signs. Although wayfinding encompasses more than just signs, signage is an important part of wayfinding.

The key to good wayfinding is simplicity. The signs must be understandable, big enough to be seen, well located, consistent, up-to-date, easily changed and frequent enough that people can easily follow them.
