Magna International (TSX:MG, Stock Forum), an Aurora Ontario-based supplier of automotive products including chassis, interior and exterior products, seating, powertrain, electronic and vision, announced today that the company had been contracted by Mercedez-Benz to supply its Magna Powertrain operating unit for the new Mercedez-Benz GLA compact SUV as well as the A45 AMG and the CLA.
According to the news release, “The AWD system was jointly developed by Magna Powertrain and Daimler. The rear axle drive and the AWD coupling were developed by Magna Powertrain, and the integration into the vehicle was done by Daimler.”
