Top Bullboards post: In a post entitled “Waiting for the market correction?” on the BCE (TSX: T.BCE, Stock Forum) Bullboard, beavertail2 said: “It doesn't seem to be coming as evident by the market. What we had was a sideway correction throughout May. Lots of people raised cash and waiting of that buying moment or shorters shorting stocks. Well, sorry, when too many investors doing the same thing, it doesn't happen. Now Dow and S&P are above 200-day. Golden cross (50-day crossing 200-day) is about to come. Big contributor will be from those who had waited for the correction with their cash or shorted. Now they will need to pile back in for the golden cross move”…

TORONTO, NEW YORK (CP) - The Toronto stock market racked up a solid gain Friday, as investor enthusiasm about higher commodity and tech stocks offset concerns about a grim Canadian employment report.
But New York markets were weak as investors had a muted reaction to U.S. employment data that showed the pace of layoffs slowed radically during May.
Toronto's S&P/TSX composite index was 92.05 points higher to 10,569.29 in a widespread advance with only gold stocks negative. Energy stocks gained 1.4 per cent as oil prices briefly hit US$70 a barrel, their highest level since last fall. Meanwhile, technology stocks rose 2.7 per cent. The TSX Venture Exchange added 4.83 points to 1,137.99.
The Dow Jones industrial average closed up 12.89 points to 8,763.13 after the U.S. Labour Department said the economy shed 345,000 jobs last month, far less than the 530,000 that had been expected. The Nasdaq composite index dipped 0.6 of a point to 1,849.42 while the S&P 500 index was off 2.37 points to 940.09.
