Solocal exec named CEO at Yellow Media (T.Y)
MONTREAL _ Yellow Media Ltd. (TSX: T.Y, Stock Forum) has concluded months of searching for a new top executive, saying a 20-year veteran of the digital media business will become its next chief executive and president on Jan. 1.

Julien Billot, 45, has been most recently head of the media group for France's Solocal Group, formerly PagesJaunes Groupe, the company said in a press release.

Prior to joining Solocal, Billot was CEO of Lagardere Active's digital and new business group.

Billot succeeds Marc Tellier, who held the post from 2001 until he departed in August.

During that time, Yellow Media underwent a number of major changes as it coped with trend away from paper-based directories, such as the Yellow Pages.

Yellow Media shares eased 0.35% to $11.45 Monday, leaving a market cap of $320.1 million, based on 27.9 million shares outstanding. The 52-week range is $12.64 and $5.40.
