Stockhouse Canadian Small and Micro-cap Stock Report for Wednesday, January 15, 2013 VANCOUVER (SHfn) –

Geomega Resources Inc. (TSX: V.GMA, Stock Forum) soared 118.2% to 24 cents as investors assessed news the mining junior had announced the successful conclusion of tests confirming physical separation of rare earth elements (REE).

According to the press release, GéoMégA's physical separation process has the potential to dramatically reduce the capital required to build separation facilities compared to conventional techniques, optimize REE recovery and improve the environmental performance of operations.

Paladin Energy Ltd. (TSX: T.PDN, Stock Forum) rose 13% to 52 cents after the uranium miner provided its quarterly activities report for the three month period ended Dec. 31, 2013. Highlights included sales revenue of US$101.75 million for the quarter and selling of 2.8 million pounds of U3O8 at average price of US$36.67 per pound.

Empire Industries Ltd. (TSX: V.EIL, Stock Forum) was up 9.5% to 11.5 cents after the engineering and construction company reported two contract awards with different customers in United Arab Emirates, totaling $25 million. These two contracts represent a significant market presence in the U.A.E., which is one of the world's most important markets for media based attractions. One of the contracts is for the company's new special effects indoor roller coaster. The second contract is for one of the company's Dynamic Flying Theaters. Both contracts will largely be executed over the next eighteen months.

Renegade Petroleum Ltd. (TSX: V.RPL, Stock Forum) rose 2.2% to 94 cents after the exploration, development and production company issued an open letter advising shareholders to reject an attempted takeover of the board of Renegade by FrontFour Capital Group LLC, a dissident group headed by Zachary George, a U.S.-based hedge fund manager.
