Barkerville Gold Mines (TSX-V:BGM, StockForum) jumped 17.3% to 61 cents on Wednesday. The Vancouver-based firm engaged in the production and sale of gold, and the exploration, development and acquisition of mineral properties in British Columbia, announced today that the company had started up operations at its QR mill facility to process ore from its QR mine located near Quesnel, British Columbia.
According to the news release, ore crushing commenced on March 10, 2014.

StockForum) rose 11% to 5 cents after the company said it had purchased 460 hectares of claims adjoining the eastern border of Doubleview Capital's Hat Property located in the Sheslay Valley district of British Columbia.
According to the news release, “To acquire a 100% interest in these claims, called "Hackett North", the Company will issue 650,000 shares and pay $5,000 cash. This acquisition is subject to approval of the TSX Venture Exchange.”
