Nautilus Minerals Inc. (TSX: T.NUS, Stock Forum) jumped 13% Friday to 53 cents. Nautilus is a Toronto-based offshore mining firm engaged in the exploration and development of seafloor massive sulfide systems. The company said Friday that an Independent State of Papua New Guinea's (“PNG”) nominee for participation in the company's Solwara 1 project had paid up the remaining balance of the nominee's 15% share of the project's start-up capital by placing a $133 million payment into escrow.
According to a news release, the payment now completes funding necessary to wrap Solwara's development phase, bringing the project up to first production.
Affinor Resources Inc. (CNQ: AFI, Stock Forum) rose 4.3% to 49 cents on news that the company has appointed a global vertical farming leader to its board of directors. Affinor is focused on the Medical Marijuana industry as well as becoming a producer of other cash crops such as Romaine lettuce and Strawberries.
