Caza Oil & Gas (TSX:CAZ, Stock Forum) rose 16% to 32 cents Thursday after the Texas-based firm announced financial results from its Q1 2014 with a monstrous 259% increase in quarterly revenues to US$4.59 million from US$1.28 million reported in the matching 2013 quarter.
Caza is engaged in the acquisition, exploration, development and production of petroleum and natural gas reserves
According to the news release, Caza grew on all fronts with oil and natural gas liquids production climbing 224% to 44,724 bbls from 13,820 bbls filed in Q1 2013 with natural gas production rising 156% to 101,709 Mcf from 39,742 Mcf recorded in the same 2013 period.
Katanga Mining Ltd. (TSX: T.KAT, Stock Forum) rose 4% to 41 cents after the company announced its financial results for the first quarter of 2014.
Katanga Mining operates a mine complex in the Democratic Republic of Congo, producing refined copper and cobalt, the company said in a press release. Totals sales for the first quarter of 2014 were $209.8 million, a 12% increase from the year ago period. Net income attributable to shareholders was $36.4 million, up from $6.3 million a year earlier.
