Theralase Technologies Inc. (TSX:V.TLT, Stock Forum) jumped 64% to 41 cents Thursday after the Toronto-based company said results from pre-clinical trials carried out at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, University Health Network, regarding its flagship Photo Dynamic Compound (PDC).
Theralase is a designer, developer, manufacturer and marketer of patented super-pulsed laser technologies
According to the news release, the PDC was intended for the destruction of cancer, but also demonstrated the ability to render animals immune to repeated exposures of the same cancer.
Sirona Biochem Corp. (TSX: V.SBM, Stock Forum) rose 15% to 11.5 cents. The Vancouver-based cosmetic ingredient and drug discovery firm, announced Thursday that the company expanded its exclusive license with Valeant Pharmaceuticals International Inc. (TSX: T.VRX, Stock Forum) for the company’s skin lightening compound TFC-849 to include AMBI and Kinerase.
According to a news release,the license gives Valeant exclusive global rights to TFC-849.
Xmet Inc. (TSX: V.XME, Stock Forum) was off 57% to 3 cents after the company released a comprehensive update on its Blackflake East and West projects near Hearst, Ontario.
