Panterra Resource Corp. (TSX: V.PRC, Stock Forum) eased 1.7% to 28.5 cents in highly active trading Wednesday after the company said it had entered into an arm's length purchase and sale agreement yesterday with a public Canadian oil and gas company to acquire certain petroleum and natural gas assets in the Central and Southern Alberta foothills.

According to the news release, the $24.0 million cash deal covered assets located in areas such as Brown Creek, Stolberg, Deanne, Burnt Timber, Moose, Jumping Pond and Ricinus in Alberta.

Starcore International Mines Ltd. (TSX: SAM, Stock Forum) jumped 22.6% to 19 cents on news that the board of directors had declared the company's first annual dividend in the its history. The dividend of $0.02 per share on the common shares of the company is scheduled to be payable on September 30, 2014 to shareholders of record on August 29, 2014.

According to the news release, the company also announced a normal course issuer bid that the company has allocated $1.0 million to purchase back common shares of the company. It also announced a proposed acquisition of American Consolidated Minerals (“AJC”).

North American Nickel Inc. (TSX: V.NAN, Stock Forum) plunged 35% to 35 cents Wednesday after the company tabled drill assays from its wholly-owned Maniitsoq nickel-copper-cobalt-PGM sullphide project in southwest Greenland.


In a press release, the company said highlights include drill hole MQ-14-037 at Imiak Hill, which intersected a zone containing high grade massive and semi massive suphide veins, grading 3.07% nickel and 0.53% copper over 11.03 metres, with the strongest interval grading 7.04% nickel over 0.64 metres.
