WesternZagros Resources (TSX: V.WZR, Forum) took a leap in the market on no news today that had investors scratching their heads. The company hadn’t released any news since the middle of the month when the company announced results for Q2 2015.

In that release, the company noted that it had $145 million in the till and had realized net sales revenue of $5.6 million during the quarter. It went on to estimate that it would generate $15 to $22 million in sales revenue for 2015 with a field netback of $10-$17 million. Shares were up 39.13% to $0.16 per share.

Petrox Resources (TSX: V.PTC, Forum) got beaten up on the boards today, possibly as fallout from the company’s recent corporate update released two days ago. According to the release, an anticipated amalgamation with Shanghai Sinooil Energy Holding announced March 31, 2015 had been terminated due to, among other things, sliding prices of crude.

Traders were arguing heatedly whether the company had just lost its way or the pros were just shaking the investment tree ridding it of skittish retail investors for when the shares would quickly return to $0.10. Shares were down 81.25% to $0.045 per share.
