TORONTO (SHfn) – A nickel/copper resource estimate garnered speculator interest Tuesday, while a security stock soared on a contract renewal.
Blackstone Ventures (TSX: V.BLV, Stock Forum) shares jumped 25% to 10 cents on Tuesday after the micro cap miner said it has received National Instrument (NI) 43-101 compliant mineral resource estimates on its Ror (Rormyrberget), Lainejaur and Lappvattnet nickel-copper sulphide deposits in Sweden, which showed total Inferred Resources of 8.2 million tonnes with 90.6 million lbs of contained nickel and 19.6 million lbs of contained copper.
As well, shares of Garda World Security Corporation (TSX: T.GW, Stock Forum) soared 29% to $4.10 as the physical security and global risk consulting firm announced the renewal of a five-year contract valued at $200 million with Desjardins Group, a long-time Garda Cash Logistics customer. Under the terms of the contract, Garda will continue to provide Desjardins Group with full ATM and Treasury services, ATM maintenance, cash vault processing and branch office cash handling.
IBC Advanced Alloys (TSX: V.IB, Stock Forum), meanwhile, and Kazatomprom, the national atomic company of Kazakhstan, reported that they have signed a memorandum of understanding outlining a framework to develop a strategic relationship to capitalize on current and emerging opportunities in the global beryllium market. IBC Advanced Alloys stock popped 17% to 17.5 cents.
And, shares of Yangaroo (TSX: V.YOO, Stock Forum) powered 26% higher to 17 cents after the secure digital media distribution company said it has been granted a United States patent that covers a method of distributing digital content, such as music and advertising, to selected individuals over the Internet, in which the uploading content provider selects the individuals that are entitled to access the content and sets release conditions, such as a time and date. This patent will be in effect until 2026.
