TORONTO (SHfn) – Visible gold news was a sight for some shareholders’ sore eyes Tuesday, while a bio-medical play popped on a license agreement.
Pele Mountain Resources (TSX: V.GEM , Stock Forum) shares powered 40% higher to 14 cents on Tuesday after the micro cap explorer announced that channel sampling at its Highland Project in northern Ontario has returned gold and associated visible gold at the recently-discovered Lone Ranger occurrence, which included 34 grams per tonne (g/t) over two meters.
As well, shares of Noveko International (TSX: T.EKO, Stock Forum) shot up 17% to $2.12 as the provider of solutions in the environmental and medical fields reported that further to the preliminary discussions previously announced on March 24, 2009, its subsidiary Noveko Trading 2008 LLC has entered into a License and Supply Agreement with Microban International, Ltd. Under the terms of this agreement, Microban has granted Noveko the right to sell its line of AZURO hand sanitizers under the Microban brand name. This global agreement also grants Noveko the right to use the Microban brand as the lead/host brand or ingredient brand, and the right and licence to use the Microban antimicrobial technology and Microban's proprietary antimicrobial additives, in the manufacture of the Noveko's surgical masks and respirators through December 31, 2012.
Galway Resources (TSX: V.GWY, Stock Forum), meanwhile, announced analytical results of the Phase I sampling program from its newly-acquired properties in the central California gold district in Colombia, which included 9.21 g/t gold over 130 meters. Galway stock popped 15% to 55 cents.
And, Great Canadian Gaming Corporation (TSX: T.GC, Stock Forum) late Monday reported second-quarter EBITDA of $30.1 million, a 9% increase from Q2 2008, while net earnings for the quarter were eight cents a share, compared with five cents a share during the same period last year. Great Canadian sharesclimbed 14% to $6.83 on Tuesday.
