TORONTO (SHfn) – Northern Tiger Resources (TSX: V.NTR, Stock Forum) shares jumped 33% to 26 cents on Tuesday after the micro cap explorer announced that initial grab samples collected on and around the discovery vein on the 3Ace Property in the Yukon have verified the nature of the gold mineralization, with average gold assays of 1,762.4 grams/tonne (g/t) from the nine samples.

As well, shares of North American Gem (TSX: V.NAG, Stock Forum) moved up as much as 18% to 16.5 cents after the junior miner reported that the Kentucky Department of Natural Resources has fully approved the mining application (Mine permit number #861-0513), which allows for immediate production to begin at North American Gem #2 Mine in Knox County, Kentucky.

Northstar Healthcare (TSX: T.NHC, Stock Forum), meanwhile, announced that the unsolicited offer by Canada Healthcare Acquisition Inc., a corporation indirectly controlled by Dr. Donald L. Kramer, a former CEO and former director of Northstar, expired at 5:00 p.m. (Toronto time) on July 26, 2010. Canada Healthcare reported that it had terminated the offer and would not be taking up any shares under, or extending, the offer. Northstar stock dropped 32% to 61 cents.

And, Swift Resources (TSX: V.SWR, Stock Forum) late Monday said it has received analytical results from a June 2010 rock sampling program on its Amazing Grace property, near Castlegar in British Columbia.
