TORONTO (SHfn) – Orezone Gold (TSX: T.ORE, Stock Forum) shares surged 50% to $2.27 on Wednesday after the explorer/developer reported that gold mineral resources at its 100% owned Bombore Gold Deposit in Burkina Faso, West Africa have increased to 60.9 million tonnes of indicated mineral resources at a grade of 0.81 grams per tonne (g/t) for 1.6 million ounces of gold plus 60.6 million tonnes of inferred mineral resources at a grade of 0.96 g/t for 1.9 million ounces.

As well, shares of Threegold Resources (TSX: V.THG, Stock Forum) gained 32% to 24.5 cents as the junior miner said it has purchased a 100% interest in 12 claims in the Shining Tree district. The Shining Tree area is strategically located in the Larder Mining Division, District of Sudbury, Ontario between Timmins, Sudbury and Kirkland Lake along the extension of the well-known Cadillac-Larder Lake Break host to numerous gold mines in Ontario and Quebec. The claim blocks are immediately adjacent to the Creso Resources Inc. and Goldeye Explorations Limited properties between the Duggan, Tyranite and Minto occurrences in the Tyrell and Knight townships.

Capstone Mining (TSX: T.CS, Stock Forum) shares powered 18% higher to $3.85 after the miner reported assay results from three new drill holes on the newly-discovered copper-silver Mala Noche Footwall Zone at its Cozamin Mine in Mexico, which included 5.0% copper and 133 g/t silver over 12.8 metres.

Roctest (TSX: T.RTT, Stock Forum), meanwhile, announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement pursuant to which Nova Metrix LLC, through an indirect wholly-owned subsidiary, will acquire all of the issued and outstanding common shares of Roctest at a price of $4.01 per share in cash. Roctest stock popped 114% to $3.96.

And, Crocodile Gold (TSX: T.CRK, Stock Forum) Wednesday reported the latest diamond drill results from the Cosmo project in the Northern Territory of Australia, which included 7.69 g/t gold over 19.1 metres. Crocodile Gold shares rose 17% to $1.54.
