On Monday, Buchans Minerals (TSX: V.BMC, Stock Forum) shares climbed 44% to 13 cents after the micro cap miner and Benton Resources (TSX: V.BTC , Stock Forum) announced the discovery of the "Goldquest" gold prospect within the Long Range 50/50 Joint Venture property in Newfoundland. Results from recently completed prospecting activities undertaken as part of the 2010 exploration program have identified abundant mineralized quartz vein material containing trace to several percent sulphides and assaying up to 106.38 grams per tonne (g/t) gold and 364.3 g/t silver in float samples, as well as grab samples from outcrop assaying up to 8.52 g/t gold and 30.7 g/t silver.

As well, shares of Anterra Energy (TSX: V.AE.A, Stock Forum) shot up 47% to 28 cents as the oil and gas producer/explorer said it has recently completed the drilling, fracing of its previously announced horizontal well in Section 17-45-5-W5M located in the Pembina area of Alberta. The company undertook testing operations from December 19, 2010, to January 6, 2011, during which time it recovered all of the load fluid and subsequently achieved testing rates of approximately 1,497 barrels of oil per day and 1.9 million cubic feet of natural gas per day for an aggregate production rate of 1,816 BOE/d of field production, ending on January 6, 2011 with a flowing pressure of 3700 kpa. Anterra holds a 60% working interest in the well and the balance of Section 17.

In Tuesday trading, Metals Creek Resources (TSX: V.MEK, Stock Forum) shares jumped 20% to 32.5 cents after the micro cap explorer reported additional assay results from its recently completed 4102 meter diamond drill program on the Ogden Gold Project in Timmins, Ontario, which included 4.37 grams per tonne (g/t) gold over 23.4 meters. The Ogden Gold Project is under option from Goldcorp Canada Ltd. and Goldcorp Inc. Metals Creek can earn a 50% interest in the project by incurring $3.1 million in expenditures and issuing a combination of cash and shares totaling $460,000 over four years.

Also, shares of Astral Mining (TSX: V.AA, Stock Forum) moved up 24% to 23 cents as the junior miner said it has received analyses from due diligence rock chip sampling over key showings at the 4,168 hectare Los Crestones Property in Mexico, which included one metre grading 26.9 g/t gold and 56 g/t silver, as well as three metres grading 13.7 g/t gold and up to 649 g/t silver from a three metre chip sample.

Wednesday’s market action saw shares of Polar Star Mining (TSX: T.PSR, Stock Forum) surge 29% to $2.91 after the copper junior announced assay results from five additional holes drilled in Zones A and B at its wholly-owned Montezuma Project in Chile as part of its ongoing program of diamond drilling. Discovery intercepts included 100 metres of 0.51% copper equivalent (Cu Eq) in Hole 33, Zone A and 44 metres of 0.66% Cu Eq in Hole 38, Zone B.

In addition, shares of Uranium North Resources (TSX: V.UNR, Stock Forum) gained 60% to 28 cents as the micro cap explorer reported gold, silver and copper results on its 100% owned Nowyak property in Nunavut. Surface grab samples have yielded values as high as 32.9 grams per tonne (g/t) gold, 1,350 g/t silver, and 4.2% copper.

On Thursday, Laurentian Goldfields (TSX: V.LGF, Stock Forum) shares powered as much as 33% higher to 38 cents after the micro cap explorer said it has signed an option agreement with Teck Resources to acquire 100% of Teck's interest in the Thundercloud gold property, 50 kilometres southeast of Dryden, Ontario. Laurentian will issue to Teck 500,000 Laurentian shares within five business days of TSX Venture Exchange approval and spending an aggregate of $6 million on exploration over three years.

As well, shares of Gold Finder Explorations (TSX: V.GFN, Stock Forum) rose as much as 44% to 95 cents as the junior miner reported that it has intersected gold mineralization from its recently completed Phase 2 diamond drilling program at the Golden Rose Property in northern Ontario, which included 5.10 meters averaging 15.62 grams per tonne (g/t) gold.

And, in Friday trading, PMI Gold (TSX: V.PMV, Stock Forum) shares climbed 13% to 68 cents after the micro cap miner reported results from recent resource in-fill and extension drilling at its Obotan Gold Project in Ghana, West Africa, which included 218.2 metres of 1.83 grams per tonne (g/t) gold.

Finally, shares of Azure Dynamics (TSX: T.WIN, Stock Forum) added 19% at 38.5 cents following a Wall Street Journal report that the electric- and hybrid-vehicle maker said it has received an order for 600 hybrid-electric delivery vans from Purolator Courier Ltd., the Canadian logistics and delivery company.
