Stockhouse Canadian Small and Micro-cap Stock Report for Friday, March 18, 2011
TORONTO (SHfn) – Encanto Potash (TSX: V.EPO, Stock Forum) shares climbed 27% to 47.5 cents on Friday after the potash junior reported results of the NI 43-101 Technical Report on its Muskowekwan project in Saskatchewan. Highlights included an indicated resource of 1,144.2 MMt (million tonnes) in place sylvinite grading 29.4% KCl (potassium chloride) or 18.6% K(2)O (79.1 MMt of recoverable KCl, or 49.9 MMt recoverable K(2)O), as well as an inferred resource of 868.4 MMt in place sylvinite grading 29.2% KCl or 18.5% K(2)O (60.5 MMt of recoverable KCl, or 38.2 MMt of recoverable K(2)O).
As well, shares of NaiKun Wind Energy Group (TSX: V.NKW, Stock Forum) soared 219% to 33.5 cents as the renewable energy company announced that its offshore wind energy project has been granted a federal screening decision confirming, the company claims, that Canada's first offshore wind project can be constructed with no significant environmental, social or health effects.
Naturally Advanced Technologies (TSX: V.NAT, Stock Forum), meanwhile, said it has agreed to a 10-year CRAiLAR fiber supply agreement with Hanesbrands Inc. that will commercialize NAT's proprietary fibers. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed. Naturally Advanced Technologies is striving to unlock the potential of renewable and environmentally sustainable biomass resources from hemp and other bast fibers. Naturally Advanced Technologies stock popped 30% to $1.80.
And, First Uranium (TSX: T.FIU, Stock Forum) Friday announced that the notice temporarily suspending operations in the underground workplaces at its Ezulwini Mine in South Africa has been lifted. First Uranium shares gained 15% to 91 cents.
