Stockhouse Canadian Small and Micro-cap Stock Report for Wednesday, April 20, 2011
TORONTO (SHfn) – Soltoro (TSX: V.SOL, Stock Forum) shares surged 22% to 94 cents on Wednesday after the micro cap miner reported results for three of four diamond drill holes completed on the Soledad structure at the Las Bolas primary silver deposit in Mexico, which included seven metres of one kilogram silver and 6.9 metres of 527 grams per tonne (g/t) silver.
As well, shares of Terreno Resources (TSX: V.TNO, Stock Forum) gained 29% to 31 cents as the junior explorer said it has agreed to acquire, from a private vendor, 100% of the Jatuarana Phosphate Project, the Nova Olinda Potash Project and the Manaus Bauxite Project, all located in Brazil.
MagIndustries (TSX: T.MAA, Stock Forum), meanwhile, announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement pursuant to which Evergreen Industries Group of China has agreed to make an offer to acquire all the outstanding MagIndustries common shares by way of a friendly take-over bid for 25 cents per share in cash, or a total consideration of about $115 million. MagIndustries stock popped 50% to 22.5 cents.
Shares of American Bonanza Gold (TSX: T.BZA, Stock Forum) jumped 13% to 40.5 cents after the gold junior said it has received the final key permit required for gold mining and processing at its 100% owned Copperstone gold mine in Arizona.
And, U3O8 Corp. (TSX: V.UWE, Stock Forum) Wednesday reported drill results from its Kurupung Batholith project in Guyana, which included 28 metres at 0.075% U3O8. U3O8 Corp. shares added 10% at 54 cents.
