TORONTO (SHfn) – St Andrew Goldfields (TSX: T.SAS, Stock Forum) shares powered as much as 13% higher to 90 cents on Thursday after the gold junior reported additional results from the ongoing definition drilling program at the Taylor Project in the Timmins Mining District in northern Ontario, which included 15.85 grams per tonne (g/t) gold over 21.6 metres.

As well, shares of Microbix Biosystems (TSX: T.MBX, Stock Forum) moved up 20% to 42 cents as the company announced receipt of a notice from the United States Patent and Trademark Office allowing all claims of its first pending U.S. patent application for LumiSort sperm sexing technology for the livestock industries.

AutoCanada (TSX: T.ACQ, Stock Forum), meanwhile, reported that it has revised its dividend policy such that it shall target quarterly dividends between 70% and 80% of fully-diluted earnings per share. As a result of this change, the company is increasing its dividend on an annual basis from 20 cents to 40 cents per share. AutoCanada stock popped 10% to $4.50.

And, Uranium North Resource (TSX: V.UNR, Stock Forum) Thursday said that a two-year land use permit and five-year water license for drilling on the company's 100% owned Mallery gold-silver project in Nunavut has been issued. A contract with Lantech Drilling Services Inc. is finalized and mobilization of the drill from Baker Lake to the Mallery project will begin shortly. Uranium North shares climbed 22% to 14 cents.
