Stockhouse Canadian Small and Micro-cap Stock Report for Friday, July 29, 2011
TORONTO (SHfn) – Brookemont Capital (TSX: V.BKT, Stock Forum) shares climbed 19% to 19 cents on Friday after the micro cap explorer reported that its field manager has visited the site of the recently-uncovered 4.5 km arsenic soil sampling geochem anomaly on its Tanzanian property adjacent to the north of Canaco's Magambazi Prospecting License. Trenching of the zone has uncovered a silicified zone and quartz vein and is being sampled for gold. Visible arsenopyrite was observed in the amphibolites associated with the quartz vein.
As well, shares of Aura Silver Resources (TSX: V.AUU, Stock Forum) slid 26% to 16 cents as the junior miner said it has uncovered a new area of bedrock gold and silver targets in the northeastern part of its Greyhound claim group in Nunavut. Soil values greater than 2,000 ppb gold (2.0 g/t) and 5.98 g/t silver were delineated. Surface sampling of bedrock returned samples up to 6.49 g/t gold. To date, four targets have been defined for drill testing.
Meanwhile Homburg Canada Incorporated, a company indirectly controlled by Richard Homburg, announced its intention to launch a public takeover bid to acquire all of the issued and outstanding common shares of Homburg Invest (TSX: T.HII.A, Stock Forum) not currently owned or controlled, directly or indirectly, by HCI for $3.25 in cash per Class A share and Class B share. Homburg Invest stock popped 14% to $2.78.
And, Formation Metals (TSX: T.FCO, Stock Forum) Friday reported that it has received and accepted a commitment from BNP Paribas for the financing of its 100% owned Idaho Cobalt Project. Formation shares added 10% at $1.19.
