Stockhouse Canadian Small and Micro-cap Stock Report for Tuesday, August 9, 2011
TORONTO (SHfn) – VMS Ventures (TSX: V.VMS, Stock Forum) shares climbed as much as 16% to 46.5 cents on Tuesday after the micro cap explorer reported follow-up results from the new copper zone discovery on its Super Zone property located 1.8 kilometres northeast of the Reed Copper deposit in Manitoba, which included 5.94% copper over 2.23 metres.
As well, shares of Cadillac Ventures (TSX: V.CDC, Stock Forum) moved up 13% to 21.5 cents as the junior miner announced results of a further two holes drilled on the K1-1 deposit located three kilometres east of the Thierry Mine deposit outside of Pickle Lake, Ontario, which included a weighted average of 0.27% copper over 610 feet.
Invenio Resources (TSX: V.IVO, Stock Forum), meanwhile, reported the commencement of a detailed surface exploration program on the Candle Hills Property in Alaska. The summer work program will consist of geological mapping, rock sampling and a soil sample grid intended to further define gold mineralization previously identified as part of an Alaskan State funded reconnaissance geological mapping program from 1977-1982. Invenio stock popped 14% to 16 cents.
And, Threegold Resources (TSX: V.THG, Stock Forum) Tuesday said the initial surface mapping and sampling programs are now completed on its Adanac, South Bay, Barraute properties in Quebec, in preparation for the diamond drilling scheduled to begin in early fall. Threegold shares rose as much as 13% to 17.5 cents.
