Stockhouse Canadian Small and Micro-cap Stock Report for Tuesday, January 10, 2012
TORONTO (SHfn) – Edgewater Exploration (TSX: V.EDW, Stock Forum) shares jumped as much as 12% to 58 cents on Tuesday after the micro cap explorer reported additional drill results for its 100% owned Corcoesto Gold Project in Spain, which include 1.93 grams per tonne (g/t) gold over 38.7 metres.
As well, shares of Lakeside Steel (TSX: V.LS, Stock Forum) slid 31% to 19 cents as the company announced that the previously announced period in which the company has agreed to negotiate exclusively with the potential purchaser regarding an acquisition or similar transaction has been extended for 10 days in order to allow the potential strategic purchaser to complete its due diligence and finalize definitive transaction agreements with the company. As well, the potential purchaser's proposed price has been amended to 30 cents per share from the previously disclosed 40 cents per share.
BioExx Specialty Proteins (TSX: T.BXI, Stock Forum), meanwhile, said it has received a letter from the US Food & Drug Administration confirming that it has no questions regarding BioExx's conclusion that its canola protein products are Generally Recognized As Safe for use in a variety of foods and beverages. BioExx stock popped 26% to 19.5 cents.
Shares of Spur Ventures (TSX: T.SVU, Stock Forum) powered 27% higher to 35 cents after the company announced that it has entered into a share purchase agreement to sell its wholly-owned subsidiary, Spur Chemicals (BVI) Inc., to Hong Tang Vision Ltd., a limited liability company registered in the Cayman Islands, for cash consideration of $9.25 million.
And, Majescor Resources (TSX: V.MJX, Stock Forum), its 100%-owned affiliate company SIMACT Alliance Copper-Gold Inc. and their Haitian partner SOMINE SA Tuesday reported final assay results for drill hole D-002 on their SOMINE porphyry copper-gold and vein gold project in Haiti, which included 0.87% copper equivalent over 295 metres. Majescor shares added 12% at 23 cents.
