Wednesday’s market action saw shares of Goldrush Resources (TSX: V.GOD, Stock Forum) surge 27% to 19 cents on volume of nearly three million shares after the micro cap explorer reported the results from five reverse circulation holes of a 98 hole RC and 18 hole diamond drilling fill-in program on its Ronguen Gold Deposit in Burkina Faso, West Africa, which included 8.77 grams per tonne (g/t) gold over 23 metres.
In addition, shares of Wind River Energy (TSX: V.WVR, Stock Forum) gained 33% to 28 cents on more than 1.6 million shares traded as the oil and gas explorer/developer announced results from the 51-101 reserve report on certain of its properties, including its Phat City project in Montana, which projects a potential recoverable oil resource in the Nisku formation of between 156,000 to 838,000 barrels of oil per well and estimates between 125 and 170 Nisku wells could be drilled within the Phat City Project. That equates to between $145 million and $2.278 billion in net present value for Wind River from the Nisku formation of the Phat City Project alone, according to the company.
On Thursday, Vena Resources (TSX: T.VEM, Stock Forum) shares powered 38% higher to 29 cents on volume of more than 800,000 shares after the micro cap miner reported that Azulcochamining S.A., a company owned by Vena and Trafigura (70/30) has received the Construction Permit for the Azulcocha zinc mine from the Government of Peru. It is anticipated that plant tune up will be initiated in February from a stockpile of approximately 25,000 tonnes. Upon completion of the plant tests, plant throughput will be increased to 500 tonnes per day (tpd) and an application will be presented to government agencies for an immediate increase to 750 tpd.
As well, shares of Erdene Resource Development (TSX: T.ERD, Stock Forum) rose 26% to 58 cents as the diversified resource company said its Board has begun a review of the capital structure of the company to explore and evaluate potential alternatives in order to maximize shareholder value, which may include a spin-off of the Mongolian assets, sale of subsidiaries, strategic investments, project financing and other corporate and financial transactions.
And, in Friday trading,Calibre Mining (TSX: V.CXB, Stock Forum) shares climbed 103% to 37.5 cents on volume of more than 25 million shares Friday after the micro cap explorer/developer and B2Gold (TSX: T.BTO, Stock Forum) reported results from the first three diamond drill holes from the Primavera project within the Borosi concession in Nicaragua. Assay results from these holes have confirmed the presence of widespread gold and copper values similar to those previously reported from surface trenching, and include 103 metres of 0.85 grams per tonne (g/t) gold and 0.324% copper. B2Gold may earn up to a 51% interest in specific concessions within the Borosi area by funding $8.0 million in expenditures by June 2014.
As well, shares of CardioComm Solutions (TSX: V.EKG, Stock Forum) shot up 225% to 13 cents on more than 11 million shares traded as the medical provider of ECG acquisition and management software solutions said it received clearance from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for over-the-counter (OTC) sales and marketing of their consumer-based, hand-held heart rhythm monitor known as the HeartCheck Pen Handheld ECG.
