Stockhouse Canadian Small and Micro-cap Stock Report for Thursday, January 26, 2012
TORONTO (SHfn) – Golden Hope Mines (TSX: V.GNH, Stock Forum) shares powered 30% higher to 24 cents on volume of more than 3.4 million shares Thursday after the micro cap miner reported further assay results from its Summer/Fall 2011 Drill Campaign in Quebec, which included six metres of 1024 grams per tonne (g/t) gold and 6140 g/t gold over one metre.
As well, shares of Source Exploration (TSX: V.SOP, Stock Forum) gained 19% to 32 cents on more than 1.1 million shares traded after the junior explorer announced that drilling at its Las Minas project has intersected gold, silver and copper mineralization, which included 15.89 g/t gold, 12.98 g/t silver, and 2.25% copper over 10 metres, and extended the mineralized skarn zone by a further 125 metres on strike for a total known strike length of approximately 840 metres.
Odin Mining and Exploration (TSX: V.ODN, Stock Forum), meanwhile, reported analytical results of the first four diamond drill holes completed on its Greater Cangrejos property in Ecuador, which included 137.3 metres of 1.27 g/t gold and 0.11% copper from 14.5 metres. Odin stock popped 50% to 30 cents.
And, First Uranium Corporation (TSX: T.FIU, Stock Forum) Thursday said it recorded a 5% decrease in gold ounces sold and a 14% decrease in uranium produced during the third quarter of 2012, compared to the gold ounces sold and uranium produced in Q2 2012. First Uranium shares fell 20% to 22.5 cents.
