Forbes & Manhattan, a leading private merchant bank with a global focus on the resource-based sectors, has opened an office in the heart of the London, England.

The office is staffed by Vina Patel, former Head of Sales for Haywood Securities' London Office and by Robin Birchall, former Vice President Investment and Corporate Banking with BMO Capital Markets London office.

Ms. Patel will focus on increasing market awareness for the Forbes & Manhattan group of companies in both the U.K. and Europe. Mr. Birchall will focus his efforts on identifying new opportunities and transactions for the group.

Forbes & Manhattan is a Toronto-based merchant bank which sits on top of a portfolio of roughly 30 resource companies, including Silver Bear Resources Inc. (TSX: T.SBR, Stock Forum), Belo Sun Mining Corp. (TSX: T.BSX, Stock Forum) and Castillian Resources Corp. (TSX: V.CT, Stock Forum).

On Monday, Silver Bear was unchanged at 67 cents, giving the junior a market cap of $29.6 million, based on 44 million shares outstanding. Belo Sun was up 1.1% to 93 cents, leaving the company with a market cap of $195.7 million, based on 210 million shares outstanding. Castillian was even at 4.5 cents, leaving the junior with a market cap of $15 million, based on 332 million shares outstanding.
