TORONTO (SHfn) – Gold Standard Ventures (TSX: V.GV, Stock Forum) shares jumped 51% to $2.69 on volume of more than 3.5 million shares Thursday after the gold junior reported that a new hole, RR 12-1, from its Railroad project on the Carlin Trend in Nevada has intersected 164 meters of 3.38 grams per tonne (g/t) gold and 42.7 meters of 9.40 g/t gold.

As well, shares of Orex Minerals (TSX: V.REX, Stock Forum) moved up 19% to 68 cents as the junior explorer announced results from the third and fourth deep diamond drill holes within the Central Zone of its Barsele Gold Project in Sweden, which included 352 metres grading 1.33 g/t gold.

Eagle Hill Exploration (TSX: V.EAG, Stock Forum), meanwhile, reported additional assay results from its now completed 25,000 meter drill program on the Windfall Lake Gold Deposit in Quebec, which included 5.7 g/t of gold over 55.0 meters. Eagle Hill stock popped 12% to 14 cents on more than 1.1 million shares traded.

And, Questor Technology (TSX: V.QST, Stock Forum) Thursday announced a 2011 profit of $1,190,404, or 4.8 cents per basic share, compared to a profit of $445,060, or 1.8 cents per basic share, for the year ended December 31, 2010. Questor is a environmental oilfield service company, which designs and manufactures waste gas incinerators for sale or for use on a rental basis and also provides combustion-related oilfield services. Questor shares rose 18% to 33 cents.
