Centerra Gold Inc. (TSX: T.CG, Stock Forum) Friday hosted a visit by Kyrgyz Prime Minister Babanov to the Kumtor mine, that featured a tour of the mine and mill facilities.

This was the Prime Minister’s first visit to the project and he was joined by members of the State Commission that was recently established by the government following a parliamentary report and resolution relating to Kumtor.

According to a Centerra press release, the Commission was formed to review Kumtor’s compliance with relevant operational, environmental, health and safety and community standards.

Down 5% to $7.69 on Friday, Centerra has seen its stock price tumble from over $20 in March, leaving the company with a market cap of $1.82 billion, based on 236.4 million shares outstanding. The 52-week range is $23.69 and $6.52.
