Stockhouse Canadian Small and Micro-cap Stock Report for Thursday, August 2, 2012

TORONTO (SHfn) – Revolution Resources (TSX: T.RV, Stock Forum) shares powered as much as 12% higher to 14.5 cents on Thursday after the micro cap explorer reported initial results from the Universo Property in Mexico, which included 42.4 grams per tonne (g/t) gold with 68.2 g/t silver over 0.97 meters.

As well, shares of Western Wind Energy (TSX: V.WND, Stock Forum) rose 10% to $2.04 as the renewable energy production company announced that meetings in and from Vancouver with three large U.S. electric utilities were successful and will be moving to advanced discussions. The company added that the three utilities have parent company balance sheets in excess of $20 billion and have known the Western Wind assets for many years.

GoGold Resources (TSX: V.GGD, Stock Forum), meanwhile, said it has closed the acquisition of Absolute Gold Holdings Incorporated. Absolute owns an interest in the Parral Tailings Project located in Chihuahua, Mexico. GoGold stock popped 14% to $1.60.

And, Newstrike Capital (TSX: V.NES, Stock Forum) late Wednesday reported results from 3,973 meters of drilling completed this period as part of the 2012 drill program in progress at its 100%-owned Ana Paula Project in the Guerrero Gold Belt of Mexico, which included 103.11 meters of 5.06 g/t gold. Newstrike shares added as much as 10% at $1.49 on Thursday.
