Orko begins exploration in Mexico

Orko Silver Corp. (TSX: V.OK, Stock Forum) said that a field exploration program has commenced on the Esmeralda Targets area of the La Preciosa Silver-Gold project in Mexico.

The Esmeralda Targets area, located in Durango, consist of a series of major fault controlled blocks.

According to the press release, exposures in the area consist of Tertiary age Upper Volcanic Group rhyolites, ignimbrites, and dacites, overlying the Lower Volcanic Group andesites. A structural geology mapping and geochemistry study will be conducted over the six major fault controlled blocks.

Currently, Orko holds over 32,000 hectares of mineral concessions as one contiguous block on the Mesa Central, east of the Sierra Madre Occidental Mountains.

On Wednesday, Orko was trading at $1.76 a share. The company has a market cap of $253.3 million, based on 133.7 million shares outstanding. The 52-week high and low was $2.64 and $1.02 respectively.
