Rio Cristal falls on joint venture setback: Canadian market movers

On Friday, the top TSX mover was Platinum Group Metals Ltd. (TSX: T.PTM, Stock Forum). The stock fell 1.96% and was trading at $1.00 on volume of 8.8 million. On Nov. 5, the exploration and development company said that new drill intercepts doubled the strike length of the Waterberg discovery, located in South Africa, to a total of 5.5 kilometres.

Bombardier Inc. (TSX: T.BBD.B, Stock Forum) was the second most active stock on the TSX. It rose 0.3% and was trading at $3.38 on volume of 5.4 million shares. On Nov. 7, the transportation manufacturer said revenue fell to $4.3 billion, compared to $4.6 billion last fiscal year in its third-quarter results.

Rio Cristal Resources Corp. (TSX: V.RCZ, Stock Forum) was the volume leader on the TSX Venture Exchange. It lost 22% and was trading at $0.035 on volume of 1.7 million. On Nov. 8 the exploration company said the MinMetals Resources had withdrawn from negotiations for a joint venture agreement on Rio Cristal’s Bongará zinc project in Peru.

The second most active stock on the TSX Venture was Labrador Technologies (TSX: V.LTX, Stock Forum). It was unchanged and was trading at $0.005 after 1.6 million shares changed hands. The research, development and data retrieval company had no related news to explain the high volume in trading.
