On Tuesday, the top TSX mover was TORC Oil & Gas Ltd. (TSX: T.TOG, Stock Forum). The stock gained 0.97% and was trading at $2.08 on volume of 15 million. The oil and gas producer had no related news to explain the high volume of trading.

BlackBerry (TSX: T.BB, Stock Forum) was the second most active stock on the TSX. It soared 8.21% and was trading at $16.22 on volume of 13.6 million shares. Record orders have been received in the first day of the Canadian launch of the BlackBerry Z10, in what may be a comeback for the communications company.
It has yet to be seen whether the stock rally will continue when the device hits U.S. markets in March.

Zenyatta Ventures Ltd. (TSX: V.ZEN, Stock Forum) was the volume leader on the TSX Venture Exchange. It jumped 21.7% and was trading at 1.29 on volume of 2.6 million. The graphite developer said a series of beneficiation tests on samples from its 100% owned Albany graphite deposit yielded 99.7% carbon while another different and cheaper process yielded a purity of 99.96% carbon.

The second most active stock on the TSX Venture was Opawica Explorations Inc. (TSX: V.OPW, Stock Forum). It fell 16.67% and was trading at $0.025 after 1.4 million shares changed hands. There was no information on hand to interpret the junior exploration company’s high volume of trades.
