Blackberry active ahead of launch: Canadian market movers

On Monday, the top TSX mover was Blackberry (TSX: T.BB, Stock Forum). It rose 9.38% and was trading at $14.69 on volume of 6.7 million shares.

Hype surrounding the blackberry maker increased as the company prepared for the Z10 to hit U.S. markets on March 22.

B2Gold Corp. (TSX; T.BTO, Stock Forum) was the second most active stock on the TSX. The stock was up 2.77% and trading at $2.97 on volume of 3.4 million.

The gold producer had no related news to explain the high volume in trading.

Med Biogene Inc. (TSX: V.MBI, Stock Forum) was the volume leader on the TSX Venture Exchange. It soared 46.15% and was trading at $0.095 on volume of 3.7 million.

On Feb. 25, the life science company said the Supreme Court of the State of New York granted its motion and dismissed Signal and Respira's claims against MBI for lost profit damages arising from alleged breaches of contract and the duty of good faith and fair dealing, cause of action against MBI for negligent misrepresentation and cause of action against MBI for unfair competition.

The second most active stock on the TSX Venture was Border Petroleum Corp. (TSX: V.BOR, Stock Forum) It fell 28.57% and was trading at $0.025 after 3.5 million shares changed hands.

The oil and gas exploration company had no related news to explain the high volume in trades.
