West Fraser Timber, Canfor reach 52-week high

West Fraser Timber Co. (TSX: T.WFT, Stock Forum) briefly hit $89.77 on Friday before closing at $89.60, for an increase of 2.54%.

On Feb. 14, the integrated wood products company reported earnings of $22 million or $0.51 per share on sales of $773 million in the fourth quarter of 2012 and earnings of $87 million or $2.02 per share, on sales of $3 billion for 2012.

The second company to make the 52-week high list was Canfor Corp. (TSX: T.CFP, Stock Forum). The stock hit a new peak of $21.25 before closing at $21.39, up 2.86%.

On March 1, the integrated forest products company said it received regulatory approval for a normal course issuer bid to purchase for cancellation up to 7,137,621 common shares or approximately 5% of the 142,752,431 shares outstanding on Feb. 25, 2013, at prevailing market prices.
